RoomRuler is a revolutionary application that allows you to measure the dimensions of a room just by taking a picture. Place the dimension arrows on the picture, and the dimension of the selected area will be instantly calculated.
This application mainly measures the "object's length in contact with the floor" and "its height from the floor", however it is also possible to measure the dimension of a room, window, furniture, and so on. (Some shapes may not be possible to measure).
The dimension is marked directly on the picture, and there is no need to write it down.
Utilize the app when you look for a room, redecorate, purchase a furniture or home electronics, for a DIY project, when you do gardening or apply for your Tweets.
[Detailed features]
Take a picture of an object you wish to measure standing on the level ground. Based on the iPhone's angle and your height, you can measure following dimensions;
- Height from the floor
- Length between two points on the floor (length in contact with the floor)
- Distance between your feet and an object
- Room dimensions
You can also measure a furniture or window by moving the arrows.
The effective range is between 0.5-50 feet. The margin of error in distance less than 15 feet will be 2-4% (the error is displayed).
The measurement is accurate enough to know the dimensions of a room.
The application also features the note taking function so that you can add the actual measured values or comments.
The measurement will be automatically sorted and save by the shooting date. It is also possible to save the image on the Camera Roll, send by mail or tweet on Twitter.

The app runs with iPhone 3G and iPod touch (4th), however you may experience the large margin of error.
The app could crush when using it on iOS 4.0. We encourage you to use the app on iOS 3.x, iOS 4.1 or later.
* The measurement have a margin of error. It is not appropriate to use the app to judge measures such as whether a furniture fits in a space or if a window is large enough to pass a furniture.
